AFRICA RECONNECT (ARC)

Mission

To realign the African Diaspora and Humanity in general with their African Roots for the purpose of economic, political, personal and social development. ARC seeks to provide leadership and act as Agents of Change in the creation of a Universal Global Africa.

With over 30 million Africans living outside of mother Africa, the continent’s diaspora has the potential to be a major source of development. One-third of the diaspora population are in the socio economic middle class, making the diaspora a formidable force for potential development partnerships. ARC regularly engages with members of the diaspora in discussions about and trade and education, connecting small businesses to investment and businesses opportunities on the Continent. Africa is a continent that has high economic potential due to its favorable climate for agriculture, abundant natural resources, wildlife, improved macroeconomic policies etc. It is undoubtedly an ideal spot for investment.

Stephen Kyerematen

ARC Chairmen Africa, Ghana

Stephen graduated from the University of Cape Coast in 1975 with a Bachelor’s degree in French and Classics. He has held several positions in the African insurance and reinsurance markets after attending several professional insurance and reinsurance courses including training with major professional insurance and reinsurance companies such as Stewart Wrightson’s (reinsurance brokers) of Lloyd’s, London, Swiss Reinsurance Company, Zurich, SCOR Re, Paris and Munich Reinsurance Company, Munich.
His insurance career started with the State Insurance Company in 1976 where he became Head of the Reinsurance Division in 1986;

  • Head of the International Division of African Reinsurance Company in Lagos in 1994
  • Regional Manager and Member of Operational Management of Munich Re Regional Office for West and Central Africa in Accra in 1997 for ten years
  • Managing Director of Activa International Insurance Company, Ghana in 2009
  • Managing Director of Activa Finances, Mauritius in 2014
  • Chairman of Activa International Insurance Company, Liberia in 2013
  • Chairman of Activa International Insurance Company, Sierra Leone in 2014
  • Chairman of the Board of MiLife Insurance Company, Ghana in 2015.
  • Vice Chairman of Activa International Insurance Company, Ghana in 2016

Stephen was Secretary-General of the West African Insurance Companies Association from 1984 to 1988. Mr. Kyerematen served briefly in 2008 as Ghana’s High Commissioner to Malaysia. He has made a few presentations to African insurance conferences on topics such as ‘The Economic Value of Reinsurance’ and ‘Africa’s Low Insurance Penetration’

Vincent (Nazim) Curtis, M.Ed., M.S.

Vincent (Nazim) Curtis is a master business developer with a track record of leading successful companies: including 8 daycare centers, 3 not for profits and 3 profit companies. Corporations include American Proven Products Foundation Inc. an organization with exempt status (501c (19) devoted exclusively to Veterans; SaNaz Consulting providing a range of strategic business development nationally and Internationally; and Lead Consultant for Africa ReConnect advising a team on prime opportunities for the Diaspora and the best strategies for investment. Mr. Curtis was selected for the later position as a result of his extensive travel to fifty-seven (57) countries on (5) continents and his keen understanding of the cultural, political, and operational dynamics of Africa, as well as direct knowledge of available opportunities.
Mr. Curtis gained significant credentials in the education and training disciplines including B.S. (Bus. Mgt.), M. Ed., M.S. Education, M. Ed. (Supervisory Ed.) from prestigious US universities including Johns Hopkins University

Sandi Williams, Ph.D.

(Chief US/Africa Consultant)

Dr. Williams is a Transformational Psychologist for the past 25 years providing individuals with time-tested processes to Live their Best Life. She is an expert in life transitions and bridge building with over 25 research papers on life, life challenges and transitions.

Dr. Williams currently serves as US/Africa Consultant for Africa Reconnect headquartered in Accra Ghana. In that role, Dr. Williams works collaboratively with key investors, business developers and stakeholders interested in potentially working in the development of economic and social development in Africa. She vets the ideas and recommends the forward movement of potential partners to the Africa ReConnect Chairmen in The U.S. Vincent Curtis, and Chairmen in Africa, Stephen Kyerematen. She serves in several consultant roles including COO & consultant to MicroSociety an international NFP in 40 states and 4 countries (South Korea, Canada, Kenya and Indonesia). Dr. Williams also currently serves as Chief US Administrator to Ambassador Erieka Benefit of the Diaspora African Forum, the first and only diplomatic embassy in the world dealing specifically with the Diaspora issues. Dr. Williams has received several awards for her work in Africa including recognition by Muhammadu Buhari, The President of Nigeria, during Black History month in 2019.

Dr. Sandi is also the founder A Wealth of Women International based in Pennsylvania and A Wealth of Women Ghana ((Bridget Kyerematen Dark Division) with an office in Accra Ghana managing a school with a combined over 1,000 girls and partners with a local organization in Kumasi Ghana to support a clinic in Kejita, one of the largest marketplace in West Africa.  

Dr. Williams holds a BA, MA and PH. D in Psychology (all with honors), is an international scholar and an active member of the prestigious Golden Key International Honour Society in which noted scholars Desmond Tutu and President Bill Clinton are members.
